Take Two vows down on “long form” support for the Switch.
Take-Two seems optimistic about Nintendo’s code name next generation platform, NX. Take-Two is responsible for publishing multi-million games such as Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock, and Duke Nukem as well as their sports firm 2K Sports, which brings out annual releases for the NBA, NHL, and WWE. When it comes to getting these games into the market, these guys don’t play around.
In a recent interview with Gamesindustry.biz, CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick shared his comments on Nintendo as a whole, stating that they are never a company to “count out.”
“We’re believers. We never want to count Nintendo out. They do it over and over and over again. So we feel pretty enthusiastic actually,” – CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick
Continuing from his comments from before, Zelnick mentions the Wii U struggles have not ruled out future support on their upcoming hardware, such as the NX. He also mentions how the Big N not competing in the arms race with Sony and Microsoft, they are not in a major decline, rather “It’s not a slump, it’s intentional”
“It’s not a slump, it’s intentional. They come to market, they do really well, and then they sort of exit the market for a period of time. They’ve been doing it for like 150 years, and that company has been doing the same thing… They’re really thoughtful, they come to market with something they really think is going to work, more often than not it really works, it blows up and then eventually they let it decline and they move on to the next thing. They don’t mind having time in between,”
With Take-Two recent comment, do you believe they will support Nintendo on the NX or is this just bluffing to politely decline making games for it? What games would you like to see on NX? Let us know in the comment section below!
