Beck from Mighty No.9 gets a updated design

If you haven’t heard about Mighty No.9, it’s been a huge project from the ex-Mega Man team at Capcom, but due to issues, we’re unable to develop the next entry in the Mega Man series, which was going to Mega Man Legends 3. And a big portion of the ex team have come and been hard working at developing Might No.9 for the last year.

Coming from the official Might No.9 website, here’s the explanation  the Director of the game Koji Imaeda has given due to the slight torso change given to the main character Beck (as seen above.)

From the very beginning we designed Beck to have a neutral, grey base, with the idea of wanting to make something completely new and unique.

But development soldiered on, and as we approached the last leg, we started looking closer at Beck. As a protagonist that could absorb the abilities of his siblings and take on various forms, our image of his appropriate color shifted from “neutrality” to “containing all possibilities”… and since white is a combination of all colors of light, we felt that would actually suit his character better! Hence, we went with the coloring change.

Pure and simple, this Beck is ready to take on all kinds of cool transformations. We hope you like our new-and-improved hero!

So there you have it, Beck’s look has gone from good ol’ gray to a new, noble white!

Mighty No. 9 gameplay shown of at GDC

Keji Inafue, responsible for franchises like Mega Man, is working hard as of lately. As GDC was taking place, his team showed a panel for his new and upcoming game Mighty No. 9. Although the gameplay is not final, the current gameplay that was shown looked incredible. It borrows many roots of the Mega Man franchise, and implements them into this game. The video also gives us an introduction to all the Mighty No. heroes in the game.

Mighty No. 9 is set to release in Spring 2015 for 3DS and Wii U.
