A wonderful budget-friendly platformer

Grab Lab is a game released by Forever Entertainment for the Nintendo Switch, which features a wide-selection of levels and worlds, featuring over 100 to play from.

It’s quite simple really. You embark into an adventure to save the world to fix gravity and the rules of physics from one of the forty characters you can select from. Apart from cosmetics, it really doesn’t matter who you pick, they don’t change your performance of your journey.

To advance through levels and worlds, you must collect bolts and potions to unlock additional stages, with some levels providing a good challenge of timing and determination.

The game starts out fairly simple, it gives you a feel on an easy spectrum by practically allowing you to pass the levels with little to no difficulty, but once you start advancing, obstacles such as blades, spikes, and tight-cornered turns make it vital for you to be aware of your surroundings.

You have the option of playing with traditional controls using the Joy-con or using the touchscreen to control your adventure. Personally, I found it easier using the Nintendo Switch touchscreen to complete levels more efficiently.

If you’re into the competitive scene, there’s also a ‘speed-run clock’ if you wanna see how fast you can blaze through the game.

To call it a VVVVVV-light would be fair, as the wall-jumping, gravity bending physics are there as well.

If you’re looking for an enjoyable adventure without breaking the bank, Grab Lab is $4.99 on the Switch eShop.
