Blake is heading to the Motor City in a blockbuster trade.
The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly traded All-Star Blake Griffin in exchange to the Detroit Pistons, Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN.com has reported. The news regarding the deal broke Monday night.
Rumors regarding DeAndre Jordan & Lou Williams have been in the air recently as we inch closer to the NBA trade deadline. The deal had been proposed six days ago, and the trade started to take off in the last 24 hours according to Woj.
Griffin debuted for the Clippers in 2010 after his missing his rookie campaign in 09′ due to an injury that sidelined him for all that season.
In exchange for Griffin, the Clippers are receiving lots of players as well, including Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, and a protected first-round pick, and a 2019 second-round pick.
For the Clippers, this means a dangerous path. Rebuilding in a fly as they try to run with a young core while maximizing their current assets to the max. For Detroit on the other hand, they’ll try to make a playoff push, as they currently sit at 9th at 22-26 as they’ll have to deal in a win-now environment.
Lots of details and players getting moved in this deal, so take a look to see what’s included for both teams in this trade.
