Just shy one point of setting a franchise record.
The Beard went off on Sunday night taking on their Western Conference opponents theĀ Utah Jazz, dropping a career high 56 points in the process with a commanding 137-110 victory. Oh, but James Harden just didn’t just captivate the hearts of the Toyota Center, he also did work in the assist column, dropping 13 dimes in the process.
Harden came up short by tying Calvin Murphy’s 57 point games in 1978 against the New Jersey Nets. Amazingly enough, Harden finished shooting 19/25 from the field and 7/8 from the three-point line, all while only playing 35 minutes.
Harden joined elite company alongside Wilt Chamberlain by shooting 75% or better while scoring 50+ points in a single game.
