Bethesda’s Says Nintendo Was “Less Interested” In Their Games Before Switch

Coming from the words of Todd Howard

Bethesda and Nintendo seem to be getting along just fine according to Todd Howard. Howard recently had the opportunity to speak with GameSpot about the ever-growing relationship between both.

Howard when on to express that Nintendo really didn’t deem any interest into what the studio was cooking up until The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was confirmed coming to the Switch later this fall. Although the game doesn’t have an exact release date nor has Bethesda confirmed anything else on the console for now, they did have some words of praise to give.

“I think it’s really smart what they’ve done,” Howard said about the Switch and its hybrid nature. “I think it’s the kind of device that only Nintendo could make. It’s exciting to bring Skyrim to the Nintendo audience.” -Tom Howard, Bethesda

Todd isn’t completely sold if the Switch will be a smash hit, but they’ve invest in taking the risk of bringing one of their games onto the platform

“I don’t know where it’s gonna go,” he said. “But I think it’s a really smart platform. We like it a lot.”
