It looks like the Wii U support from Nintendo will finally come to an end after Zelda…
In a recent interview with Polygon, who had the opportunity of speaking with Reggie Fils-Aime. In a tidbit of the interview, Reggie confirm that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wid would indeed be the last first party title on the Wii U, putting the support from the developer on the grave.
“From a first-party standpoint, there’s no new development coming after the launch of the legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” “We really are at the end of life for Wii U.”
Furthermore Fils-Aime also went for the record saying that Wii U titles will still be continued to be sold at retail and digitally throughout the eShop. No plans as of yet to shut down online services for the Wii U just yet neither.
“From our standpoint, sunsetting is quite some time into the future. The ongoing activity from an online standpoint on [Mario] Kart and Splatoon is significant. We’re going to continue to support that.”
