Without a question that Pokemon is one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises when it comes to making the big bucks, but how well has each title sold through the years?
Thankfully, we now know. Website Siliconnera has gathered some sales from the past few games for the sales of Pokemon games, starting from the original Pokemon Ruby and Saphhire all the way to Pokemon X and Y. Take a look below at how well the titles have fared against the test of time.
As of March 31st, 2013:
Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire – 16.22 million
Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen – 12 million
Pokémon Black 2/White 2 – 7.81 million
As of March 31st, 2014:
Pokémon Diamond/Pearl – 17.63 million
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver – 12.72 million
Pokémon Black/White – 15.58 million
As of September 30th, 2014:
Pokémon X and Y – 13.29 million
I remember when Pokemon Emerald came out … it cost like $70.. which is ridiculous. I just pre-ordered OR-AS and they quoted me $100 for both games and plus some in store credit. So that should be good. 🙂

Wow $70?!?! As much as I loved Sapphire, Emerald defiantly was the best of both worlds. As for ORAS, I can’t wait to get my hands on it! 18 days to go!

Should we factor in Japan’s declining birth rates to predict future sales?
