Smash Bros update: 8-5-14

Today’s update from the Super Smash Bros. website has now gone live. It shows us a never before seen item for an item. Although it doesn’t have a name yet, Sakurai said it will work similar to the Dragon item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If you are unfamiliar with the Dragon item in Brawl, it required you to grab 3 pieces and when you had all of them, you could use it on a opponent to insta-KO them with the correct alignment. And without an expection, you’ll have to collect 3 pieces to use this item. It has a nice vibrant look, wouldn’t you say so? Here’s what Mr. Sakurai had to say on Miiverse for today’s Pic of the Day.

Pic of the day. Look at these three radiant pieces… Yup, you guessed it! It’s another combinable item like the Dragoon-the Daybreak.

Sakurai went the extra mile to give us another look at the item in motion. He demonstrated with Pit how tit will look like when the item is about to release an astounding source of beam from its cannon. And of course, the tease of Sakurai wouldn’t reveal whether or not the item will be a 1-hit KO item like similar to Brawl or just damage impact, either way, we’ll let you decide that fellow reader. You can also change the direction of the launch by flicking the Circle Pad toward the back of the fighter. Here’s what Mr. Sakurai had to say on his additional Miiverse comment and the picture provided.

This is what it looks like when all three parts are combined together. How powerful will its beam blast be? FYI, you can fire shooting items while moving backward and forward. Change direction by flicking the Control Stick or Circle Pad toward the back of the fighter.
