Yes, it’s true. GameCube controllers will return to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Smash GC Adaptor

If you missed the huge news that bursted out into the internet today, we got you covered. As part of their official Smash tourney players selection video, the participants were selected and then the rules were laid out as well as the usable characters. As always, Nintendo likes to end their videos with an extra “bang.”

Well that bang was none other than the GameCube controller making its comeback for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U this year. As seen by the picture above, the GameCube controller will be connectable to the Wii U via an adapter, which then connects to the USB slot of the Wii U. What’s very nice though is that, the GameCube controller has a Smash logo in the top center of the controller. Those this mean Nintendo plans on re-releasing another batch of GameCube controllers for fans who loved using it during Meele and Brawl, or is it just themed like this for demonstration purposes?

What do you think of the announcement? Did your favorite Smasher’s make it to the tourney? How excited are you for the GameCube controller in the home console of Smash Bros? Let us know in the comments.
